Serving Southern dishes with a fiery palate, its roots lead back to “grandmother’s” cooking. She was a native of Nakhon Si Thammarat who wanted to cook for her children and grandchildren, so she opened a small restaurant. Later on, her grandson “Ice” developed and expanded the business, but retained the quality of ingredients, especially the various curry pastes, which are all ordered from the South in order to maintain every dishes’ distinctive taste and aroma.

Baan Ice

A popular signature menu at Baan Ice is Stir-fried stink beans with kapi and pork belly, which uses only beans that were grown in the South, where the terroir contributes to its taste and scent. Fried shrimp heads with salt uses the finest shrimp heads to be deep fried until golden and does not retain oil. It is lightly salted and is a great snack. Muang Kon noodles sees thin noodles stir-fried with shrimps, chilli and Baan Ice’s sauce and is served with many types of fresh vegetables.
